Parent and Family Engagement School Goals

Laurel Mill Elementary School will take the following measures to promote and support parents as an important foundation of the school in order to strengthen the school and reach our school goals:

  • LMES will communicate with parents through a variety of means such as weekly progress reports, newsletter, social media, school messenger, teacher Canvas Pages,  and the school website.
  • LMES will ensure parent understanding of curriculum expectations at each grade level.
  • LMES will direct parents to the correct resource for their needs such as the guidance counselor, school nurse, curriculum coach, administrator etc.
  • LMES will ensure that all communications will be provided in English and Spanish and or other languages needed.
  • LMES will survey parents and obtain feedback on our school and Title I program.
Parent Resource Center
Parent and Family Engagement
  • Parents can find many resources from our school website and teacher Canvas pages.
  • The office staff is always available to support parents with finding the right person or resource to assist with any questions or challenges.

Laurel Mill Elementary School believes that parental involvement means the participation for parents in regular two-way and meaningful communication about student academic learning and other school activities. This ensures that parents are full partners in their child’s academic development and are included, as appropriate, in decision-making and on advisory committees to assist in the education of their child.

Questions? We are always willing to engage in helpful communication. Please call Jennifer Giandenoto, Principal 919-853-3577 or email at jennifergiandenoto@fcschools.net.
